David Guetta

From the 2009 party banger “Sexy chick” to his latest song “Dangerous” this French DJ never ceases to amaze us with his fantastic taste for music. Those of you who don’t know, I’m talking about the world famous “David Guetta” who celebrates his birthday today, the 7th of November. Born in Paris, France in the year 1967 this EDM Mogul is universally accredited with being one of the 1st DJs to open up the world of Electronic Music to Global chart audiences.

He began DJing at 18 at the “Broad Club” in Paris by playing popular tunes. He released his debut album “Just a little more love” in 2002 selling 300,000+ copies. As the years progressed he gradually witnessed stardom through his 4th album “One Love” which produced many #1 songs including “When Love takes over”, “Sexy Chick” etc.  He also produced the massive hit “I Gotta feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas which topped in 17 countries and went on to become the most downloaded song of all time in the U.S.

Furthermore he received 5 nominations at the 52nd Grammy Awards and to add to it he was voted as the #1 DJ by the DJ Magazine in 2011. His 5th studio album “Nothing but the beat” also produced fantastic tracks like “Without you”, “Titanium”. Florida’s club hit “Club can’t handle me” and Kelly Rowland’s “Commander” were some of his great works. He has also collaborated with hotties like Rihanna, Nicki minaj and Britney spears on numerous world wide hits.

David Guetta’s massively hyped 6th studio album “Listen” due on the 21st of November. This star studded album will feature artists from R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock, Electronic and Pop worlds  such as John Legend, Sam Martin, The Script, Nicki Minaj, Ryan Tedder, Magic!, Nico and Vinz and  Sia. Avicii, Nicky Romero, Afrojack and Showtek have also collaborated with Guetta on his new Project.

Does the 47 year old EDM giant still have what it takes to put forth an album which will produce world wide hits?? Well, we will just have to wait and see it for ourselves. I would like to end this post by saying; Age plays no role in whatever you do, as long as you have the will-power and dedication to do it. Cheers!!

My top 10 suggestions for this week: - Enjoy!!

Ø  John Legend - You and I(Nobody in the world) (R&B)
This is the follow up single to the million plus selling “All of me”. Written by John, the powerful and impassioned guitar-led track is a dedication to his wife as he professes his love and admiration.

Ø  James Blunt - When I Find Love Again(Pop)
This folk-pop track from Blunt’s re-release album “Moon Landing” portrays to us that with each relationship we become wiser and stronger and we will definitely find love again.

Ø  Calvin Harris feat. Big Sean - Open Wide(Electro)
This Scottish sensation releases yet another catchy track from his new album “Motion” adding to it Big Sean’s outrageous verses and chorus fits the track perfectly just before the beat drops.!!

Ø  Rune RK - Calabria(Firebeatz remix)(House)
After re- works by several DJs , 7 years later this dutch duo try their shot at mixing the massive “Calabria”. Have they done it right?? Well , Check it out for yourself.( weird video)

Ø  Taylor Swift - New Romantics(Pop)
This song discusses how “new romantics” view love and life. It addresses the nonchalant and whimsical nature of the way young adults approach love from her new album 1989.
(I couldn’t find the official lyric video)

Ø  The Script - Man on a Wire(Pop/Rock)
This amazing songs depicts getting over a failed relationship almost like walking a tightrope, everyone waiting and watching you fall.

Ø  Mohombi Feat. Shaggy, Faydee and Costi – Habibi (I need your love) (Reggae/pop)
The Romanian producer “Costi” managed to get many big names on this track; it has a feel good vibe with a danceable rhythm.

Ø  One Direction - Steal my Girl(Pop)
The young lads release this poppy track off their new album “Four” due this month. The video for this song is weirdly funny.

Ø  Florida Georgia Line – Sippin on Fire(Country)
This is the 5th track from the duo’s 2nd studio album “Anything goes” though it sounds more like a stoner-country than bro –country.

Ø  Tommy Trash & Wax Motif - HEX (Original Mix)(House)
HEX is an aggressive tune that features a very unique vocal sample that really takes this collaboration to the next level.
